Lou Manfredini to Broadcast Live from “Chalet Landscape Experience”

WGN-AM Radio’s Mr. Fixit, Saturday, Sept. 11

WILMETTE, Ill. (July 7, 2010) – Chalet will host a “Chalet Landscape Experience” day featuring free design consultations, landscape demonstrations, kids’ activities and a live radio broadcast with WGN-AM’s Mr. Fixit, host Lou Manfredini, on Saturday, Sept. 11.

The event kicks off with Manfredini hosting his weekly WGN-AM radio show live on Chalet’s grounds from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. During the broadcast, Manfredini will answer questions from select radio show listeners and Chalet customers. The day’s events continue through 5 p.m. at the store, 3132 Lake Ave. in Wilmette, Ill.

For visually spectacular landscapes, Chalet’s award-winning landscape design and service representatives will share their insight on a range of topics, including effective lawn care, stunning specialty gardens and the importance of landscape design, among others. Visitors can tour a number of garden vignettes around Chalet’s grounds, where they can learn about charming yet practical additions like seating walls, outdoor barbecues, pavers and more.

Programs will include concurrent presentations at separate “stations” on subjects including landscape lighting, sprinkler and irrigation systems, outdoor kitchens, garden structure, soil and turf management and other outdoor landscaping and design elements. The irresistible aroma of grilled foods will fill the air, as professional chefs share and sample mouthwatering recipes straight from the patio grill.
