A: In maples we recommend 'Autumn Blaze' (Acer x freemanii 'Autumn Blaze') and 'Marmo' (Acer fremanii 'Marmo'), both fast growers that do well in our clay soil and consistently color orange and red in the fall. Other suggestions are Ornamental Pear, River Birch and the magnificent Bur Oak. All these trees exhibit tremendous multi-season ornamental value.
